WHO WE ARE
Our Roots
The Huntsville Canoe Club was established on January 20, 1980 by a group of people who enjoyed being on the water. Since our founding we have grown and continue with the original mission of the club which is to share our love of water and paddling and to do that with like-minded people.
WHAT WE DO
HCC is a group of people interested in paddling all types of self-propelled craft - canoes, kayaks, sit-on-tops, and stand up paddle boards - on a variety of types of water. Members' skill levels and experience range from newcomer to expert. Our preferred venues range from local lakes to whitewater creeks and rivers.
HCC arranges group paddling trips, events, camping, and other activities throughout the year for members to enjoy.
We meet every month to discuss club activities, events, and to socialize.
PADDLING TRIPS
Coordinated by our cruisemasters and volunteer trip leaders, we have group paddling trips on lakes, rivers, and creeks from Class I to Class V.
EVENTS
We host several events throughout the year for our members to gather in fellowship. Some of the favorites are the cajun boil, chili cook-off, and Christmas party.
No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.
